Why call it the Web?
I think that the main reason that the
internet is referred to as the Web, is that it is all
connected. Just like a Spiders Web is connected. And if you
looked at it from an aerial view, it would look like a crazy
spider's Web.
Every Web Site on the Internet is linked to
one another, either directly via a link, from web site A to web
site B. Or in most cases you would have to follow a string of
links. For example to get to web site M, you might need to
go from web site A, being the one you start at, to web site B,
then from a link on web site B you make your way to web site
M.
So depending on where each of the web sites
were being physically hosted, stored on a computers hard drive,
if you visited enough web sites then looked at them by drawing
a line from each site that you visited in order, like dot
to dot, after enough web sites were visited you would get a
pattern resembling a spiders web.
Ok, enough of that. Seeing as you have
visited this web site i am assuming that you are
interested in making your own web site. The program which i
have talked about on the main pages is a great web site design
program for beginners, as it is fully functional and virtually,
what you type in is what you get. Is a no brainer, which is
great for those people who do not have the time to study how to
program.
But, lf you are interested in learning how to
program and make your own web sites that way. l would
recommend that you visit this
site
http://www.webmonkey.com/ . They
can teach you all there is to know about programming, in every
language. lt is well worth the visit, also it is free. They
also have a how to as well as a quick reference section, which
you will find of great comfort when you forget a certain tag
description or color code. Also try http://www.w3schools.com
